Massachusettes Board of Health and Dentistry
Mayor David T. Hildt has appointed Dr. John S. Rizza, D.M.D to the Amesbury Board of Health. Dr. Rizza resides at 418 Main Street in Amesbury and has operated his general dental practice in North Andover since 1980. Dr. Rizza was also a member of the faculty at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for 10 years.
Dr. Rizza has been on the Dental Assistant Advisory Board at Northern Essex Community College since 1984. In that role he was involved in curriculum planning and professional guidance to students in the program. Dr. Rizza recently moved to Amesbury in 2003. Prior to that he resided in North Andover, where he was a member of the Board of Health for 18 years. Dr. Rizza is a member of many professional associations including the American Dental Association and the Merrimack Valley Dental Society.
“I am excited to have Dr. Rizza as a member of the Board of Health,” stated Mayor David Hildt. “His vast work, teaching, and research experience will bring new ideas and insight to public health issues facing Amesbury.” Dr. Rizza will fill the open seat on the Board to expire in 2007.
